Role Overview
The Junior Web Developer will support the Head of Projects in designing, building, and maintaining websites and web applications for clients.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate design concepts into responsive, high-performance websites.
You’ll work closely with the design and digital marketing teams to ensure that every project meets brand, functionality, and SEO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain websites using WordPress + Elementor as the primary platform.
- Assist in building landing pages, corporate sites, and e-commerce solutions.
- Implement integrations (forms, CRMs, analytics, and marketing tools).
- Ensure all websites are mobile-responsive and optimised for speed and SEO.
- Update and maintain existing client websites (plugins, backups, security patches).
- Support the setup of domain names, hosting, and email accounts.
- Collaborate with designers to implement layouts and visual concepts.
- Troubleshoot and fix front-end or basic back-end issues.
- Work with the digital marketing team to embed tracking codes and SEO plugins.
- Maintain clear documentation of work and project changes.
Requirements
- 1–2 years’ experience as a web developer, preferably in an agency or freelance setting.
- Strong proficiency in WordPress, Elementor, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
- Understanding of SEO best practices and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with Google Search Console, Analytics, and Yoast SEO or similar plugins.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new technologies.
- A strong portfolio showcasing previous projects or contributions (links required).
